Hello! I’m Helen, a 40-something modern Jewish mum living in beautiful Cambridge, UK.
I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen for over three decades, and sharing recipes online since 2014. I like to draw on Jewish traditions and seasonal ingredients to create innovative and delicious meat-free food, and take inspiration from British, European and Middle Eastern food heritage. Becoming a mum refocused my attention on preparing healthy, nutritious food, as well as making it delicious.
My first book, Helen’s delicious Pesach, reached no. 1 in the Amazon kosher food chart when it was published in 2015. My recipes have been featured by Joy of Kosher, The Jewish Week, The Jewish Hour radio show, The Jewish Telegraph, BabyCentre, Metro and others.
I named my blog after three of life’s most important things – family, friends and food. The occasions when you get all three together are some of the best times you can have!
I hope you enjoy exploring family-friends-food, and maybe trying a recipe or two. Feel free to comment, or send me a message via the contact page. You can also get my new recipes straight to your inbox by subscribing here.
All the best!
