Achievements

January 2016
Happy New Year and Happy 2nd Blogiversary family-friends-food.com! I started the year with an interview on the The Jewish Hour radio show on Salford City Radio, sharing my fabulous aubergine shakshuka recipe. January also saw my most popular recipe yet hit the internet – 3-ingredient vegan chocolate tart! I was thrilled when it was included in a ‘vegan recipe roundup’ on BabyCentre UK.

December 2015
Family-friends-food.com made it into the top 250 of the Foodies 100 ranking of UK food bloggers. There are over 5000 food blogs ranked each month, so I was super-chuffed that my niche kosher blog was getting such attention. Onwards and upwards!

November 2015
I flew to New York to attend the Kosher Food Bloggers Conference, KosherFeast dinner, and KosherFest trade show. While there I was interviewed by Naomi Nachman for her ‘Table for Two’ radio show on the Nachum Segal Network.

September 2015
September must be salad month! My recipes for Moroccan carrot salad and beetroot salad with pomegranate were included in this round-up of salads from Kosher Bloggers, featured in the The Jewish Week. Meanwhile, my avocado & orange salad was in this round-up of side-dishes to brighten your Autumn!

I was interviewed for the Shavuot edition of The Jewish Hour on Salford City Radio, and shared my recipe for inside-out cheesecake cookies.

Family-friends-food was shortlisted in the food category of the Brilliance in Blogging awards (the ‘BiBs’) 2015.

March 2015
My book Helen’s delicious Pesach was featured on JoyofKosher.com, and reviewed in the Jewish Chronicle, the Jewish Telegraph, and the Essex Jewish News. It reached number 1 on Amazon’s kosher foods bestseller chart!

August 2014
The deliciously gluten-free Lemon, lavender and almond cake was runner up in the Spice Trail summer spice challenge.

July 2014
My Spice-roasted butternut squash and halloumi fajitas recipe won the Spice Trail cumin challenge.

May 2014
A link to my recipe for Asparagus and oyster mushrooms with lemon-pinenut-pesto spaghetti appeared in the Asparafest 2014 programme.

March 2014
I achieved my EdX Certificate in Science and Cooking.

2009-present
I have been contributing a regular recipe column to the thrice-yearly bulletin of the Cambridge Traditional Jewish Congregation since 2009. You can read current and past editions here.
