A selection of delicious recipes featuring seasonal early Summer fruits for #CookBlogShare Week 18. As local rhubarb and fresh berries hit the shelves, here are some ideas of how to use them.
Welcome to #CookBlogShare 2021 week 18
In a change to scheduled programming, this week I’m hosting #CookBlogShare Week 18. CookBlogShare is a weekly recipe link-up where fabulous food bloggers share their recipes. It’s a great place to find foodie inspiration and discover new and interesting ideas.
Karen at Lavender and Lovage hosted last week’s linky, which as usual attracted a terrific selection of both sweet and savoury recipes.

Summer is coming!
I always feel that Spring has truly Sprung and Summer is just around the corner when the rhubarb appears, and I know that delicious soft berries won’t be far behind.
We love to eat seasonal fruits and vegetables. As well as keeping our diet varied and interesting, there is some evidence that fruits and vegetables in season have better nutritional value than those that are ‘hot-housed’ year round, or flown in out of season from other parts of the world.
One thing that’s definitely true though, is that the flavour of fruits at the peak of their local natural season can’t be beaten. A fresh and juicy summer berry, bursting with sweet and fragrant flavour, is a treat indeed!

#CookBlogShare Seasonal Fruit Recipes
I’ve chosen four recipes from last week’s #CookBlogShare that highlight these delicious early Summer fruits. I’m sure you’ll agree that they all look scrumptious!
1. I’m drooling over this blackcurrant cheesecake from Farmersgirl Kitchen. Definitely one to bookmark for Shavuot.
2. My neighbour grows his own rhubarb and sometimes kindly gives some to me. I think next time I’m lucky enough to get a bagful, I’ll be making these rhubarb crumble cake bars from Curly’s Cooking.
3. Another Shavuot contender! This no-bake white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake from Cooking With My Kids looks incredible!
4. Finally this homemade raspberry gin from the Veg Space looks like the perfect thing to sip on a hot day – fruity and refreshing!

Seeing all these beautiful summer fruits makes me so excited about warmer weather and sunshine. Can’t wait! Thanks for featuring my raspberry gin, I’ve been doing plenty of taste-testing over the last few weeks!!

I expect nothing less! No point making raspberry gin if you aren’t going to taste-test it thoroughly to ensure perfection!

Ooh summer fruits, now you’re talking. It will be a while until we get any on our allotment, especially with the weather being so cold, but I am enjoying copious amounts of rhubarb. Really fancy a glass of raspberry gin now.
