Something sweet

Of course no Rosh Hashanah meal would be complete without at least one delicious – and sweet! – dessert. From the classic honey cake to fruity puddings with apples or pomegranates, there are so many to choose from.

Below I’ve put together a list of some of our favourite sweets and desserts for your Rosh Hashanah table. The recipes feature traditional ingredients like apples, honey, and sweet dried fruits in classic and innovative ways.

A wooden board with whole and sliced apples, a pot of honey with a honey dipper, and pomegranates.

Planning your menus

Of course dessert is only one part of a YomTov meal! Last year I created some Shabbat and YomTov meal planners for myself, to make it easier to keep track of multiple meals, guests, food allergies/preferences, and other essential details, over the course of the chat.

These cute print-at-home PDF planners are now available through my Etsy shop Modern Jewish Home. There are four different designs, and you can print as many as you need. Use them with your best pen, and you’ll feel super-organised! They’re available as an instant download, so you can get started planning straight away!

Wishing you a delicious and sweet new year from family-friends-food.com!
